Beachwood Police say a Macedonia man took advantage of a developmentally impaired woman and tried to steal her trust fund.
Rodney Lemons, 39, will be arraigned Thursday on charges of securing writings by deception, attempted theft, extortion and telecommunications fraud, all felonies.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors said that Lemons provided the woman with a false pay stub, which she used to secure a $12,700 loan at a Beachwood bank, which she signed over to Lemons.
Lemons also tried to steal the woman's $270,000 trust fund, Cuyahoga County prosecutors allege in the indictment against him, and when he failed, they say, he tried to extort her family.
