Fight erupts at local restaurant
Friday, Aug. 24, 11:35 p.m. — A Phil the Fire customer called police and reported that his coworker, who he was drinking with at the bar, had punched him in the face. When police arrived, they said they found marijuana on the suspect and arrested him for the drug, assault and disorderly conduct.

Woman refuses to provide ID, resists arrest on traffic stop
Saturday, Aug. 25, 1:18 p.m. — A woman was pulled over by police at Fairmount Boulevard and Interstate 271 and refused to provide a drivers’ lisence or insurance, police said. They placed her under arrest and she wrapped her ankles around the center console of her car to get away from officers as they attempted to handcuff her. She was charged with resisting arrest, fleeing/eluding an officer and speeding.

Over $1,000 in stolen merchandise recovered after foot chase
Sunday, Aug. 26, 4:56 p.m. — A Lyndhurst officer saw a shoplifting suspect leave out of the doors of Saks Fifth Avenue at the Beachwood Place Mall and began chasing him. The suspect was caught in the La Place parking lot after trying to jump down from a wall and hitting his head, the report states. The man was treated at Hillcrest hospital and charged with theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing.
