Man arrested for drunken driving in front of City Hall

Saturday, March 9, 3:12 a.m. — A man was arrested in front of Beachwood City Hall and charged with drunken driving with a BAC level of .16. Officers also found a gun in his car, and he was charged with having weapons under disability, improperly handling a firearm in a car and driving in marked lanes.

Police arrest driver with ficitious plates

Saturday, March 9, 11:28 p.m. — A man was arrested at Chagrin Boulevard and Richmond Road after police pulled him over on a traffic stop. The man lied to the officer about his name, and the officer found that the plates did not match the man’s car. He was charged with fictitious plates and furnishing false information to a law officer.

Shoplifters shove security officer

Sunday, March 10, 6:56 p.m. — Two men were charged with attempted robbery after police say they tried to steal clothes valued at $124 from Banana Republic at the Beachwood Place Mall. As they were leaving, a security officer moved to stop them and they shoved the man into the wall.

Man kicked out of hotel for stealing food

Monday, March 11, 7:49 p.m. — An employee at the Residence Inn reported that a man tried to eat at the hotel for free and when she told him to leave, he cursed at her and became belligerent.
