Beachwood woman accused of hiring hitman to kill her ex-husband

A woman accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband is expected to continue testimony in her defense this morning in Lake County Common Pleas Court.

 after prosecutors say she and her father, Al Zombory, tried to hire a hit man to kill David Metter, her ex-husband. Zombory is to be tried later.

Metter's jury trial on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder began last week. that Metter acted out of fear for her safety and was entrapped in the undercover police investigation.

The state's burden is to prove that Metter helped plan or agreed to the plan to kill her ex-husband.

Last week jurors also heard from the man who told police that Metter's father offered him $50,000 for the murder, and

David Metter, the intended target,

Metter is in Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

 His trial is scheduled for Jan. 31.
