Facebook Murder-for-Hire: Police Reports Inadmissible

Informant Patrick Sabo was mentioned in three police reports that a judge ruled could not be admitted as evidence

In an early morning oral hearing, Judge Eugene Lucci ruled that three police reports involving Patrick Sabo were inadmissible as evidence in Christine Metter’s trial.

Sabo acted as a police informant in a sting that resulted in the arrests of Metter, 42, and her father Al Zombory, 76, both of Beachwood,

 after prosecutors say she and Zombory tried to hire Sabo to kill her ex-husband David Metter.

She is in Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Defense attorney Michael Lear argued that the incidents are relevant because Sabo could have thought that helping police secure a conviction would help him in his brushes with the law.

The incidents did not lead to any criminal charges. Lucci said that the reports did not prove anything, especially because two were complaints filed by Sabo’s estranged wife.
