Drunken Driving Arrest Ends with Immigration Officers

Man weaving, brake-checking cars on 271 has open containers, blows over .17% BAC

A man pulled over for drunken driving was found to be in the U.S. illegally, according to police.

A caller reported to police that a driver on Interstate 271 near Chagrin Boulevard was brake-checking other cars and weaving. found the car and pulled him over.

Juan Calzada, 29 tested at more than twice the legal blood alcohol content limit and had several open cans of beer in the car, said police. When police ran his information, they learned that he did not have a valid driver's license and was in the U.S. illegally from Mexico.

Calzada was charged with drunken driving, having an open container and driving without a license.

Police noted that he will be turned over to immigration officers once his traffic charges are resolved.
