Drunken Driving and Drunken Running From Cops: Beachwood Police Blotter

Beachwood Police stopped a southbound driver on I-271 near Chagrin Boulevard at 3:15 a.m. July 4. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence for suspicion of having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. He was also charged for not staying in the highway lanes and his car was towed.

Police arrested a man driving a car on Richmond Road near Shaker Bouleveard West  at 11 p.m. July 7 for suspicion of drunken driving. He was arrested for drunken driving and for turn signal violations. His car was towed.

Police were called for a report of a drunk man driving in the hotel parking lot at Homewood Suites, 25725 Central Parkway at 11 p.m. July 6. When police got there, they confronted him and he ran. Police were able to catch him and charged him with drunken driving, persistent disorderly conduct and an additional drunken driving count was added because he had previous drunken driving arrests and he refused to be tested.  The police report indicated a taser was used in the arrest. The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
