Woman arouses suspicion at Fairmount

Friday, April 20, 7:49 p.m. — An employee of the Beachwood called police because a woman was sitting in a lawn chair on the school property. When police questioned the woman, she said she lived on Fairmount Road and was “just enjoying the weather.”

Two arrested for shoplifting, fake IDs

Friday, April 20, 3:27 p.m. — A woman was arrested by police after they say she shoplifted $977 of merchandise from the Police discovered that her Puerto Rican ID was fake, and then checked the man who was with her. His ID was also fake. The report notes that it is unclear if the two are in the U.S. legally and that U.S. Immigration officials have been notified.

Briefcase stolen from Chagrin office

Saturday, April 21, 12:14 p.m. — A man reported that a briefcase and its contents, worth $2,489.09, was stolen from his office at Brown & Associates, 23611 Chagrin Boulevard.

Police alerted to man carrying screaming child

Saturday, April 21, 2:56 p.m. — Someone reported that a black man was carrying a white child who was screaming and wiggling from the Beachwood Place Mall. Police tracked down the man, who is an employee at Saks Fifth Avenue, on a city bus. He is the child’s grandfather, and she was acting up, said police.

Police: Injured deer is just fine on three legs

Sunday, April 22, 2:20 p.m. — A resident called police to report an injured deer behind Police could not find the deer when they responded, but, they noted in the report, “This deer is familiar to our agency and gets around fine on three legs.”
