Cleveland RTA Bus Driver Uppercuts Female Passenger: Names, More Info Released
The Cleveland RTA released the names of the two people involved in the incident that became a viral video of a driver uppercutting a woman on a bus in Beachwood.
The Cleveland RTA has released the name of the bus driver who uppercut a woman on a bus in Beachwood in a video that became viral this week.
Artis Hughes, a 22-year-veteran of the Cleveland RTA, has been identified as the bus driver in the video. He was suspended Oct. 11 after RTA personnel saw the video online.

The woman in the video is Shidea N. Lane, 25, the RTA wrote.
Hughes called Transit Police and filed a report that he had been assaulted, but Lane did not file a report. Neither party pressed charges against the other.
