Beachwood Woman Accused Of Hitting Pedestrians With Car & Driving Away

Brittany Arnoff has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault and failing to stop after a crash

A Beachwood woman is accused of hitting a pair of pedestrians with her car and then driving away.

Brittany Arnoff, 22, ran a red light at East 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue in downtown Cleveland on October 22, 2012.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, Arnoff struck a car in the intersection and then ran up onto the sidewalk and hit two pedestrians.

Arnoff slowed down momentarily but then sped away, prosecutors said.

Arnoff's car was located in Kirkland the following day.

She has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault and failing to stop after a crash.

Her arraignment was scheduled to be Thursday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas but the hearing was continued until March 4.

Arnoff's mother -- 54-year-old Karyn Nowak of Bainbridge -- is her codefendant in this trial. She has been charged with obstructing justice.

She repeatedly misled police during the investigation, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.
