Beachwood Cell Phone Ban in Effect This Week

Drivers in Beachwood take note: the city's ban on most cell phone uses in the car takes effect this week.

The law, passed by June 18, prohibits drivers from using wireless communication devices - including cell phones and GPS devices - with their hands.

That includes texting, answering a phone call and looking up directions unless voice commands or hands-free headsets are used.
