Home burglary reported on Shakercrest Boulevard

Thursday, July 21, 12:57 a.m. — Residents reported that someone broke a first-floor window and stole jewelry from their home on Shakercrest Boulevard. The incident occurred between Tuesday afternoon and early Thursday morning. Police would not release further details.

Friday, July 22, 8:51 a.m. — Morgan Stanley Smith Barney reported two computers  — valued at $2,000 each — stolen from the offices at 24000 Chagrin Blvd. The company is in the process of moving to Pepper Pike, the employee told police. There was no forced entry to the office. 

Marijuana found near juveniles after curfew

Sunday, July 24, 3:49 a.m. — An officer spotted four kids walking along Park East Drive and suspected they had marijuana. The officer stopped the kids and found marijuana on the ground near them, but could not determine if it belonged to one of the kids. The officer turned them back over to their parents, who were staying at the Hilton Hotel. No charges were filed. 

Purse stolen from parked car

Tuesday, July 19, 1:23 p.m. —  A woman reported that her purse and its contents — valued at $670 — were stolen from her car while she was at the . She told police she was unsure if the car was locked.

iPad stolen from mall kiosk           

Monday, July 25, 7:53 p.m. — Teek’s Natural Garden in the  reported that an iPad was stolen from a kiosk. 

Missing juvenile returns home same day

Tuesday, July 19, 2:39 p.m. — A woman reported that her 16-year-old foster daughter was missing. The teen returned the same day, said police.

Missing juveniles spotted riding bikes on I-271

Friday, July 22, 3 p.m. — Beachwood Police spotted two boys riding their bikes in Interstate 271 near Woodland Road. Police stopped the boys and discovered they had been reported missing from Richmond Heights, so they were taken to police in that city.

Dillard's employee stuck in storeroom

Tuesday, July 19, 10:10 p.m. — An employee at  called police after she accidentally locked herself in a storeroom. Security was called and unlocked the door.

Woman and baby search for husband

Wednesday, July 20, 9:28 a.m. — A woman with her 4-month-old child went to Montgomery Lynch & Associates at 3681 Green Road and asked for her husband. When she was told he was not there, she refused to leave and caused a disturbance, the complainant said. Beachwood Police were called and told her to leave the office.

Fireworks reported

Sunday, July 24, 3:42 a.m. — A resident near Edgehill Drive reported hearing loud explosions, which were believed to be fireworks. When officers arrived to the area there was a party on Edgehill Drive and cars parked without permission on the street. Parking citations were issued.
