Beachwood Blotter: Driver Blames School Bus for Accident

Notes from the police blotter April 17-20

Sunday, April 17, 3:09 a.m. – A man was arrested at Hendon and Richmond Roads and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) and driving under suspension. He also had two active arrest warrants for driving under suspension.

Monday, April 18, 1:13 p.m. – A Parma resident reported that her credit card had been used fraudulently in Beachwood as well as other cities in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. The charges totaled $4,419.07.

Monday, April 18 – Two teens, ages 14 and 15, were arrested at at the for stealing a total of $578 of clothing.

Wednesday, April 20, 7:51 a.m. – A driver blamed a school bus without its flashers on while picking up a student for a three-vehicle accident on Cedar Road near Campus Road. No injuries were reported and the car drivers decided not to press charges. Police are unaware about whether the bus had its flashers on, but no bus was hit in the accident.

Wednesday, April 20, 12:18 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary at Contemporary Cosmetic Surgery, Inc., 3733 Park East after a manager noticed pry marks. Police believe someone tried to jimmy the first-floor entrance. No entry was made.
