A birthday party at a Beachwood hotel ended with a 15-year-old girl being punched by a 40-year-old relative, according to a police report.

She said that a 40-year-old woman – who is related to her daughter, though police did not know what the relationship is – punched her 15-year-old daughter in the face.
The two had been in a verbal fight, but police got conflicting stories from each side about why it started or what happened. The teen was not transported to the hospital.

No one was arrested at the hotel, but a prosecutor will decide whether to charge the older woman with simple assault, said police.
