Painter scares resident in address mix-up

Jan. 22, 12:07 p.m. — A Halcyon Road woman reported that her 19-year-old daughter saw a man trying to break into their garage door while they were inside the home. An officer arrived at the home and talked to the man the teen described, who told him that he was a painter hired to make repairs, but he was at the wrong house. The officer contacted the homeowner at the address the painter gave him and she confirmed that he was supposed to be there.

Jan. 24, 3:51 p.m. — A woman was arrested at the Beachwood Place Mall and charged with stealing $686 of merchandise from Dillard’s.
