After the page posted the Beachwood Patch article, Shepard came out and messaged supporters:

Hello,
First of all I would like to send my condolescenes to the family and friends of Aliza Sherman. I understand that this is an extremely difficult time for you. As you can see, my name is Kenneth Shepherd. I was the individual who placed the 911 call as well as the individual who spent final moments with Aliza Sherman. I have followed this story very closely since that tragic afternoon, and am as angry as you that an arrest has not been made, nor have any answers been given. It hurts my heart to know that her family and friends are suffering so terribly during this time. I have been reluctant to go to the media out of respect for Aliza and the privacy of her family. I did not personally know Aliza, but her murder has deeply affected me ever since that dreadful Sunday afternoon. I am reaching out to you now, through this brave facebook page to offer details of what transpired that extremely sad afternoon. I have not been able to talk about this with anyone, but would like to attempt to speak with you, only with your approval. I have created an email account for contact (ken.shepherd13@yahoo.com). I cannot stand by and continue to watch you suffer through this terrible time.

I continue to send prayers to Aliza Sherman, as well as her friends and family. Like you, I DEMAND justice served for the murder of Aliza Sherman.

Supporters responded to his note:

Justice for Aliza Sherman: Hi Kenny, Thank you for being there with Aliza during her last moments. And thank you for making that tough phone call to the police. We also truly appreciate the post. There will be without a doubt a lot of people who will want to contact you. We'll post your message on our page later today.

Stacy Bauer Kenneth, you are a brave man who helped a woman in her most desperate moments. Your heart and soul give me renewed faith in people. I am sure your bravery and assistance are appreciated by Aliza's family and friends. Thank you.

Peggy Bergholz Kenny, You were a Brave angel to Aliza that horrific day & should be very proud of yourself for responding to her cries for help & staying with her. I don't know Aliza or her family but I know that justice needs to be brought shiftly here. Your voice broke my heart, you were trying to do everything right while trying to stay calm but you never should have had to see what you saw that day either. Your compassion, courage & encouragement had to have given her some comfort. God Bless You & Thank You for being one of the great guys!!!
