You're Not Losing...Just Learning To Win!

You can win...even if you lose.

If you’re just starting or have been playing chess for a while chances are that you’ve lost a game at some point. What did you do? I’ve seen people admit their mistakes and accept the lost. I’ve seen people make excuses for losing.  I’ve even seen people throw pieces after losing a game. Everyone reacts differently to losing. However, when you lose a game don’t look at it as losing. Look at it as an opportunity…on learning how to win. After a game remember how you played and the moves you made, good and bad. Make sure you remember what you did wrong so you won’t do it again.

Before his Atlanta Braves won the World Series after being in last place for several years and before he became a champion sailor after winning the America’s Cup media tycoon Ted Turner said in his autobiography that for all of those years he wasn’t losing, but learning how to win. This is the perfect attitude a person should have if they want to succeed in anything and become a winner.

Life is the same way. When you lose or come up short whether for a job, an opportunity, or anything else don’t look at it as losing, but learning what doesn't work and learning to win. Losing in anything is bad. However that’s not to say that you can’t get something out of it. Make the most of any loss by learning from it and making sure it doesn’t happen again. Don’t look at loses in your life as failures look at them as opportunities, opportunities to grow and learn to be a winner, on the road to the top.
