Poll: Was Susan G. Komen Right to Pull Planned Parenthood Funding?

Decision is generating controversy

The decision by Susan G. Komen for the Cure to halt its funding of Planned Parenthood has generated controversy this week, Huffington Post reports

After partnering with Planned Parenthood for the past five years to provide cancer screenings to low-income patients, Komen announced on Tuesday that it would sever ties with the family planning provider because it is under investigation in Congress.

However, the groups that prompted that investigation are anti-abortion advocacy organizations that have long criticized Planned Parenthood over the fact that some of its clinics offer abortions, Huff Post says.

The move has prompted a backlash of angry comments on the breast cancer organization's message boards and Facebook wall

What's your take?

It is sad to think that a woman has the right to kill an innocent baby because she made a mistake. There is no other answer even in case of rape. Why does the so law allow the rapist to the right to life after creating such a terrible crime but the baby who is truly the innocent victime itself is sentenced to death. There are programs that can assist a woman or young girl in the case of rape without committining muder.

Oh new question since SGK has increased their funding by 100% in two since they decided to not fund PP. Now that they have reversed their decision they should refund all those donations, since it can be perceived as misleading people to donate under false pretense. I know I will no longer support SGK since they support PP.

I don't see how anyone could support Susan G. Komen anymore. An organization should do what is best for the organization. I find is cowardly and shameful that SGK retracted when the issue was blow apart by the liberal media! If people don't like what an organization supports, then they don't have to support it. If people don't like changes an organization makes, then they can pull their support. If someone wants to create their own organzation which better fit their needs, then they can. That is why we live in a free society! As for people who are talking about "having to support more unwanted babies because Planned Parenthood isn't getting their money", I find that comment beyond disgusting. Unless you are a rape victim, YOU are the person choosing to have sex outside of marriage, YOU know what the consequences may be when you give in to your momentary desires. Women and men know there is no contraceptive out there which is 100% effective. If people in today's society would think of the consequences of their actions before giving in to their wants, we would have a much better world to live in. ABORTION = MURDER.

Let me tell you about my beautiful surprise. He is a college graduate and serving his country. He is also a small business owner and while in college help to found a fraternity that concentrates on helping the needy. And it was his family that educated him in social and moral values. We didn't need PP... oh and yes we were in the lower income bracket growing up. We used our education to better ourselves and didn't rely on constant government assistance.
