Volunteers needed for Friends of the Beachwood Branch Book Sale

The Friends of the Library hold two used book sales a year, and they are the organization’s biggest fundraisers.  This year’s spring sale runs from April 7 to April 10.  Thursday, April 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. is Members Preview Night. New members may join at the door and then enjoy refreshments while they browse this season’s selection of adult and children’s books, movies and music. The sale is open to the public Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, April 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday is Bag Day; fill a bag with items for only $5.

The Friends are looking for volunteers to help with this year’s event.

“Come help us out, get to know our volunteer group, have some laughs and support the library,” said Cherie Lawrence, book sale co-coordinator.

Volunteers are needed both before and during the sale. Duties will include setting up the sale, directing customers and straightening the sale tables. A variety of shifts are available, and students needing community service hours are welcome.
