Ernestine Greenberger, 98, Jewish Community Leader

Ernestine F. Greenberger, 98, passed away July 31, 2013.
Ernestine was a leader in Cleveland's Jewish community. She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School at the age of 16 and later graduated from Case Western Reserve.
She was an honorary board member on the National Council of Jewish Women, Cleveland Section.
Ernestine was the wife of the late Leo; mother of Ruth Lester and Judy (Nick) Ringel of Memphis, TN; grandmother of David (Virginia) Lester, Ellen Arian, Karen (Ben) Deutsch, Betsey (Andy) Saslawsy, Jimmy (Janice) Ringel and Jonathan (Deb Weisshaar) Ringel and great grandmother of 13.
Ernestine was the sister of the late Joseph Friedl, Evelyn Friedl and Alice Bennett. She also leaves behind Sally Verdell, Dawn Armbrecht, Erica Wesley, Belinda Pierce and Joanne Eden.
Services were held on Aug. 1 at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, and interment was held at Mayfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Evelyn Friedl Preschool Enrichment Fund at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple or the National Council of Jewish Women, Cleveland Section.
