8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at TriPoint Medical Center Physician Pavilion, 7590 Auburn
Road, Concord Township. Doors open at 8 a.m.; complimentary continental breakfast available. Co-sponsors are the Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio and Lake Health.
Educational presentations include: “Rheumatoid Arthritis and
Polymyalgia Rheumatica,” Gary M. Kammer, M.D.; “Pain Management and Arthritis,” Timothy Ko, M.D.; “Acupuncture and Arthritis,” Susan Kim, DC, FIAMA, CCN, CFCS; and “Osteoarthritis: Diagnosis & Treatment Options,” Frank Myers, D.O.
It’s been about 2,000 years in the making, but acupuncture
is becoming more main stream. Research shows that pain and other symptoms of
rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia might be treated with
acupuncture.
The day’s events also include an interactive Arthritis
Foundation Tai Chi Program demonstration, box lunch ($5.00 donation) exhibits
and door prizes. The Expo is supported
with educational grants from Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genentech Inc. and Pfizer.
Due to limited space, pre-registration is required. Call the Best
of Health line at 440-953-6000 or 800-454-9800. Ample free parking is available and the site is handicapped-accessible.
The Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org)
is committed to raising awareness and reducing the unacceptable impact of
arthritis, which strikes one in every five adults and 300,000 children, and is
the nation’s leading cause of disability.
To conquer this painful, debilitating disease, we support education,
research, advocacy and other vital programs and services.
