Healthy & Delicious: Red, the Steakhouse

This week Healthy & Delicious visits Red, the Steakhouse.

My husband and I went to Red, the Steakhouse-Beachwood . I will be honest, I thoroughly enjoy starting my evening with a Dirty Grey Goose Martini with 3 olives (light dirty-light vermouth). For my first “Healthy & Delicious” course, "M" served me the “Baby Arugula, Prosciutto di Parma & Parmigiano with a Lemon-Pepper Vinaigrette” salad.  The baby arugula was lightly dressed allowing its natural spicy flavor to mix with the delicate, yet salty piece of Prosciutto and Parmigiano cheese.  Although I was tempted to eat the entire salad, I waited for my main course.

“M” presented me with the 9 ounce aged USDA Prime Filet Mignon-
Oscar Style (asparagus, béarnaise sauce, and 1/4# king crab).  I was panicked, this was not what I considered “Healthy & Delicious” but “M” explained that the steak, crab, and asparagus was prepared without oil or butter, and the béarnaise sauce was served on the side.  The combination of steak, crab, and asparagus was absolutely delicious and surprisingly healthy.  Given the ample portion size of
my main entrée, I ate half that evening and took the rest home-for Sunday
Brunch.

The next morning, my husband and I enjoyed an omelet filled
with steak, crab, and asparagus, served over a bed of “Baby Arugula and
Prosciutto di Parma & Parmigiano.”
