Suburban Symphony Concert






Suburban Symphony Orchestra begins its 59th season
with the opening concert on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
 Martin
Kessler, Music Director, will lead the orchestra in an All-Russian Program
featuring Grammy Award Winning Pianist, Angelin Chang.Internationally
acclaimed pianist Angelin Chang
is the  first American female and the
first pianist of Asian heritage to be awarded the GRAMMY® for Best
Instrumental Soloist with orchestra. 
Dr. Chang’s concert tours have led her to such venues as the Kennedy
Center, Lincoln Center, Severance Hall and many international
locations.  Angelin Chang is
Professor of Piano and Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at Cleveland State
University, where she also teaches at the Cleveland-Marshall College of
Law.  Dr. Chang is Vice President,
Board of Governors of The Recording Academy Chicago Chapter (National
Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) and serves as Chair of the
Education Committee and Classical Task Force.Angelin Chang will be
performing Piano Concerto #1 by
Shostakovich
.  To complete the
program, the orchestra will perform Romeo
and Juliet by Tchaikovsky
, and Stravinsky’s
Symphonies of Wind Instruments.
Concerts are held Sundays
at 3:30 pm in Conway Hall on University School’s Shaker Campus, located at
20701 Brantley Road, Shaker Heights, OH. 
Parking is available on campus and around the residential circle that
surrounds the school.  All concerts are
