UPDATE: Snow to Continue into Afternoon

Winter weather warning in effect until 10 p.m.

Updated 11 a.m. Friday

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall is expected this morning - and reports were of 3 to 5 and even 6 inches in places earlier this morning with an expected 3 to 5 inches more today - but the snow will taper off west to east this afternoon. The winter weather warning is stil in effect until 10 p.m.

The roads are hit-or-miss: Beachwood's are mostly clear but in Cleveland Heights several inches of snow and slush still stand on most roads.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 10 p.m. Friday.

The rain we see tonight will soon turn to snow, according to the NWS website. The snow is expected to be heaviest around midnight and continue into Friday afternoon.

The exact track of the low pressure system that will cause the snow is still uncertain, so the places that will see the heaviest snow is still unknown. The NWS does predict that heavy snow will fall east of Interstate 71 and north of Interstate 76.
