UPDATE Excessive Heat Warning in Effect for Second Day

National Weather Service warns heat index values could be between 100 and 104 Friday

The National Weather Service has issued another excessive heat warning effective from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday across the Midwest.

The warning is in effect for all of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois; and most of Kentucky, Michigan, Missourri and Kansas.

Heat index values are expected to be between 100 and 104 in the Greater Cleveland area with temperatures in the low- to mid-90s. NWS warns that this prolonged stretch of heat poses a significant risk of heat illnesses.
