Beachwood to Host Veterans Day Observance

City will offer service and tours of Beachwood Cemetary.

Richard Barsen and two other local veterans will speak at the Beachwood Cemetary Nov. 11 as the city observes Veterans Day.

Barsen served in the Korean War and is a familiar face at Beachwood City Council meetings, where he addresses council nearly every meeting about everything from thanking the city for quick snow removal to asking for a Sept. 11 observance — a request the city granted this year.

He wrote a column on Beachwood Patch in 2011 about peices of the World Trade Center he procured for an exhibit at Fire Station #1.

The Beachwood Color Guard will also be at the service, and the Beachwood Historical Society will give tours of the cemetary's oldest graves immediately following the observance.

The service begins at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the Beachwood Cemetary on the northwest corner of Green and Halburton roads.
