Wayne Lawrence Leaving Beachwood Chamber, Convention & Visitors Bureau
Lawrence will step down from Chamber Oct. 1
Wayne Lawrence, Executive Director of the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce and President of the newly-formed Beachwood Convention & Visitors Bureau, will leave his Chamber post Oct. 1.
Lawrence was hired to the Chamber in 2007, and, in 2012, spearheaded the effort to form a Convention & Visitors Bureau in Beachwood, becoming its inaugural president when it launched. He's employed at half-time at each organization.
“I am still very passionate about the Chamber, its partners and the Beachwood community," Lawrence said.
He will also leave the CVB, though a timeline has not been finalized, he said.
A press release noted that Lawrence will help the Chamber through the transition. His final day falls just after the Sept. 28 Chamber's Business 2 Business Show and the CVB's first Food, Fun and Fashion event, a long weekend of activities spotlighting Beachwood businesses Sept. 25 to 29.
“Of course, it’s a loss to the organization," said Chamber Board President Michael Gray. "Wayne has been a strong leader, a passionate advocate for businesses and a voice in the region."
