PHOTOS: Big Lots Donates $2,500 to Bryden at Ribbon-Cutting

Customers fill entrance for grand opening

Customers crowded the small entrance to at this morning's ribbon-cutting at the Pavilion Shopping Center closeout store.

Big Lots Regional Manager Bob Skinner presented a check for $2,500 to Bryden Elementary School Principal Christi Bernetich just before the ribbon-cutting.

Bernetich said the money will go to good use: the school hired a teacher to expand the school's science education and gave her a laboratory - and that lab needs furnished.

The store has been open for a few days but the grand opening was held this morning. Council members, school representatives, Mayor Merle Gorden and city staff attended the ceremony.
