New Restaurant Coming to La Place

Find out what's coming - and when you can enjoy their fare

A local restaurant proprietor will add a new "simple, classic American grill" in Beachwood's La Place.

The Cedar Creek Grille, owned by Lindey's Restaurant Group, will open by September, owner Rick Doody told the Planning & Zoning Commission at Thursday's meeting.

The Commission voted unanimously to approve Doody's preliminary site plan, which includes renovations and an expanded patio in the 6,200-square-foot space that housed until early this year.

Doody and his family have owned Lindey's Restaurant and Bar, an upscale new-American restaurant and bar in Columbus, for 30 years.

His day job is as the chairman of a successful restaurant group that founded a national upscale restaurant chain, but he added that this is an unrelated venture - his family has "no interest" in making the Cedar Creek Grille a chain.

"It's a great market. We know the market well," said Doody, who hails from Hunting Valley.

Doody described the menu as simple and fairly limited: grilled fish, ham and cheese sandwiches. They'll be open for dinner seven days a week and possibly weekend brunch.
