Ask people what Mélange means and they might say it’s a fancy kind of word that means a mixture or collection of different things — kind of eclectic. in Beachwood is all these things: a little fancy, a little quirky, and a little different. Although the differences are the joie de vivre, the food is consistently beautifully presented, the atmosphere fun, and donations from the sale of Linda’s milk and cookies put toward cancer research or family support.
Unlike other late-night eateries, Melange is open for brunch and lunch. Belgian waffles, fruit compote, French toast and buttermilk pancakes are all on the menu. There is fresh fruit or tasty chocolate chips and maple syrup for garnish. If you have missed morning breakfast hours and are craving those flavors at night be sure to check out “Breakfast” on the dinner menu. It is a cheddar and herb omelet with everything in it, even breakfast sausage corn dogs.

If you decide to skip dinner and concentrate on small plates keep an eye out for two unusual choices: chorizo pierogi and “buffalo” frog legs. Look closely at the other ingredients and you’ll find subtle twists in everyday flavors. The main entrees include beef, lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options.
