Bedford Porsche Dealership to Move to Beachwood

Chagrin Boulevard store will be 'Cleveland center for all things Porsche'

A Bedford Porsche and Audi dealer has announced plans to move its Porsche sales to Beachwood.

Penske Automotive Group, located in Bloomfield, MI, operates dealerships in Bedford and Mentor, including Porsche of Bedford, which will relocate to a building on Chagrin Boulevard.

A deal expected to close March 1 will merge the Bedford dealership with Stoddard’s Porsche dealership in Willoughby, said Jed Hunter, Penske’s vice president of its Cleveland operations. He expects 15 current employees to move to the Beachwood building, which he hopes will become the “Cleveland center for all thing Porsche.”

“[Beachwood is] the best location serve the maximum number of Porsche clients,” said Hunter. “Our survey said Beachwood’s the place to put it.”

He added that Beachwood boasts a lot of Porsche owners and hobbyists, but that the current market is “overserved” with too many dealerships.

Penske bought the land at 25855 Chagrin Blvd. for $3.4 million Feb. 7, according to county auditor records, and will submit facility plans to the city’s planning and zoning commission at their regular meeting Thursday.
