Beachwood Native Makes Headlines in Fight Against Recall

Buckyballs creator fights Consumer Product Safety Commission on recall order with "Save Our Balls" campaign.

Beachwood native Craig Zucker has made national news in a fight with the Consumer Safety Product Commission to keep his magnetic desk toy on the shelves.

The CSPC asked him to recall or stop selling Buckyballs because there have been 12 reported cases of people swallowing the 5-mm magnetic balls.

Zucker, who graduated from in 1997, argues that the rate of injury is extremely low compared to the 2.5 million products he's sold, and that the company has adequately warned its customers of the dangers of letting kids play with them.
