Beachwood Lizardville to Open Spring 2013

Winking Lizard property coming to former barbecue restaurant

Lizardville, an offshoot of the popluar area sports bar The Winking Lizard, will open a store in Beachwood next spring, said owner Jim Callam.

The business was granted a liquor permit for 25800 Central Parkway, the former home of

City Council discussed the permit at Monday's meeting and no one voiced objections.

Callam said patrons can expect a new concept for the Beachwood location of Lizardville.

Lizardville's first store — a retail-based business with some in-house liquor service — is in Bedford Heights, and one slated to open in Rocky River this month will be similar, said Callam.

But the third store, to open in Cleveland's Galleria in late August, has less emphasis on carry-out and more on in-house dining and alcohol service, he said.

Callam is still developing plans for the location in Beachwood, but he said he wanted to jump on the available property before someone else did.

He and other investors in Winking Lizard's properties formed a group to purchase the building at 25800 Central Parkway for $1 million March 23.
