People, places and things are seen everywhere, every day, but not through the eyes of an artist.
The Beachwood Community Center will change that with the opening of its latest exhibit. The "People, Places and Things" gallery kicks off Sunday with an opening reception from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the center. The exhibit runs through Jan. 26.
"It's all about how they interpret different things through their artistic eyes," program coordinator Susan Gordon Merdler said. "We have a lovely array (of artwork)."
The exhibit features four artists and more than 80 pieces of work composed with oil, acrylics and mixed media. The paintings are as random as the exhbit's title implies. Gordon Merdler says visitors can expect images of children, dogs, fruit, landscapes, seascapes, eggshells and doorways.
The featured artists are:
- Ethel Alexander
- Jeff Coryell
- Nancy Mueller
- Kenneth Messinger-Rapport
The exhibit and opening reception are both free and open to the public. The exhibit's regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
