BALLROOM DANCING FOR KIDS
Where/When: La Danse Cleveland/ Six-week session will be every Friday, July 8 to Aug. 12, from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.
Why Go: Kids 7 to 12 years old will learn the basic steps in Foxtrot, Rumba, Waltz and Cha Cha as well as leading, following and timing. Participants should bring slick-soled shoes.

BEACHWOOD RECREATION THEATER CAMP

Why Go: Students will be taught by Jill Koslen-Freireich and her staff as they learn the lay Songs About Rainbows featuring the songs of Jim Henson. The three-week class is for students in grades 2 to 8.
Price: $375 for residents, $425 for non-residents
Where/When: Legacy Village (above Starbucks) / Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Why Go: Works from artists such as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Ron Wood, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana and more will be on display. Photos taken during jam sessions involving The Eagles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles will also be there.
Baron Wolman, the first chief photographer of Rolling Stone magazine will be signing his book, Baron Wolman – The Rolling Stone Years. Wolman, a Columbus native, began working for Rolling Stone in 1967.

Where/When: Urban Active Fitness / Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. in July
Why Go: Bootcamp training, a new fitness craze where instructors simulate a military-style workout, will be offered free in July to members and non-members. Non-members will receive a guest pass for the day.

Where/When: Pop Shop Gallery, 17020 Madison Ave., Lakewood / Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: As Cleveland prepares for the superhero movie, The Avengers, to start shooting next month, Lakewood’s Pop Shop Gallery is featuring more than 25 local artists who are paying homage to the superheroes that will be cast in that movie. Captain America, Iron Man and Thor, just to name a few, will all be represented in beautiful works of art drawn by the local artists.
