Plan your week around these fun activities for kids and adults

ART IN THE VILLAGE PART 2

Where/When: Legacy Village/ Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: If you had a blast at the first art show at Legacy Village earlier this summer, come back for round two when some of the same artists join new exhibitors showcasing paintings, scultpures, photography, wood, glass, jewelry, ceramics and more. A wine tasting from noon to 6 p.m. both days as well as live music will also be available.

Price: Event is free, wine tasting is $1 per taste or $6 for a full glass

CELEBRATE ROSH HASHANAH AT McCORMICK & SCHMICKS

Where/When: / Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 28 and 29 from 4 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy traditional food like Bubbe used to make each Jewish New Year, only with an upscale twist. There will be the usual foods of apples and honey, chicken matzo ball soup, gefilte fish and challah bread, as well as new creations like roasted chicken breast with warm squash and pomegranate salad, sweet pecan noodle kugel and beef brisket with tzimmes.

Price: $35 per adult, $12 per child under 12 years

LITTLE SCIENTISTS PROGRAM FOR KIDS

Where/When: / Five-week session begins Monday and occurs every Monday from 12:40 to 1:25 p.m. until Oct. 24.

Why Go: For ages 3 to 5, this interactive science program developed by Ivy League-educated scientists and educators allows kids to explore tools scientists use in a variety of studies, including molecular science, and will analyze why the sky is blue and the complexities of floating and sinking objects.

Price: $69 for residents, $74 for non-residents.

HBA OF GREATER CLEVELAND GREEN HOME TOUR

Where/When: Multiple locations/ Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Take a tour of several homes featuring the latest in sustainability practices, design trends and construction technology. Choose to tour homes in Solon, Bainbridge, Concord Township, Hinckley, or Hinckley.

Price: Free

HAUNTED PRISON

Where/When: Ohio State Reformatory Historic Site, 100 Reformatory Road (OH 545) just north of U.S. Route 30 in Mansfield/ Opens Friday, 7 p.m. to midnight. Normal hours will be Thursday 7 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. to midnight and Sunday 7 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: The scariest prison on Earth opens for the Halloween season Friday. The shuttered Mansfield prison has been featured on the shows Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventurers and becomes the perfect place to get your fright on!
