On Sunday, Aug. 28, Bellefaire JCB raised over $100,000 at its 16th annual Biathlon & Family Fun Walk. The event is a fundraiser for an agency that started as an orphanage in 1868. Now the agency's services include adoption, family counseling, foster care and a day school and boarding academy for autistic children and adults.

About 400 people ran, walked and rode along a route that ran through Beachwood, Shaker and other nearby communities. David Miceli won the biathlon with a time of 49:47.4. Among teams, Thomas-Fawcett-Dubow-4 placed first with a time of 55:41.0.
