Not planning a big trip this summer? Patch found five great places to visit right in Beachwood

Nowhere to go this summer? There is plenty to do right here in Beachwood.  Here are five great places to enjoy the summer.

1.

With a variety of exhibitions, the Museum of Jewish Heritage provides a comprehensive look on the history of Jewish culture.  Group tours are available six days a week, closed Monday.

Take your family to the Beachwood family aquatic center and enjoy a nice swim complete with fun waterslides. Season starts May 28. Open swim starts at 12:15 p.m. on the weekdays and at 11:30 a.m. on weekends. Beachwood residents should visit the Community Center to buy a pass; non-residents can buy daily passes but must be accompanied by a resident to use the facility.

Enjoy a nice day in the sun and work on that golf swing.  Highland Park Golf Club offers two full-length 18-hole courses at a moderate difficulty.

4. Shaker Square

Location: 13200 Shaker Square, Cleveland.

From fine dining, movies, art, and more; Shaker Square offers a variety of entertainment for all ages. During the summer weekends, come hear live music or visit the North Union Farmers Market every Saturday.

5. Shaker Nature Center

Location: 2600 South Park Boulevard, Shaker Heights, 216-321-5935

Go on night hikes or enjoy a variety of fun events offered throughout the summer at Shaker Nature Center.  There is even a photography club for photo enthusiasts.
