16th ANNUAL ART SHOW: ALL WOMEN, ALL ART

Where/When:  / Now through Sept. 1

Why Go: This annual art show features all women artists including Victoria Dumesh photography, Marueen Bergman jewelry, Inna Barkon abstracts, Lyn Kleinman pastels, Diana Morrow collages and Eugenia Vainberg embroidery.

THE FLASHBACK BAND AND BACK 9 AT LEGACY VILLAGE

Why Go: Rock and soul group The Flashback Band performs Friday while Back 9, an acoustic pop band, performs Saturday.

VOLUNTEENS: HANDMADE CARDS FOR RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Where/When:  / Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 3-5 p.m.

Why Go: Teens age 12 to 18 are invited to create cards for families at the Ronald McDonald House to give to nurses, doctors and others who helped make their stay better in such a trying time.

Price: Free

12th ANNUAL UKRAINIAN FESTIVAL

Where/When: St. Pokrova Ukrainian Catholic Church, Parma / Friday 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. to midnight and Sunday noon to 11 p.m.

Why Go: The Ukrainian Festival kicks off the summer festival series final push with live folk music, stuffed cabbage rolls, kielbasa, potato pancakes and everything you’ve grown to love.

Price: Free admission

BAT NIGHT AT LAKEVIEW CEMETERY

Where/When:  / Friday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Tim Krynak of the Cleveland MetroParks will talk about the various types of bats in the area and set up nets to catch them. Registration is required by calling (216) 421-2687.
