1. 

Where/When:  Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Check out what high school students at 25 schools in our area are creating. Winners announced at 3 p.m.
Pricing: Free. Light refreshments provided.

2.  

Where/When: Men’s Club Lounge, Menorah Park East, Sunday, 1:30 p.m.
Why Go:Who doesn’t want to know their roots? Maybe you’re a direct descendant of George Rogers Clark, or Antoine Dodson (you know, “Hide your kids, hide your wife…”).
Pricing: Free

 

3.  

Where/When:  Sunday, 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: Hear the best five young soloists in our region: some of these kids have pretty impressive resumes already (one has appeared on NPR, and all have traveled around the country to perform with other symphonies).
Pricing: Free.

 

4.  

Where/When: Thornton Park Ice Arena, 3301 Warrensville Center Road, Shaker Heights
Why Go: Even if you can’t skate, there are rails to hold on to. Plus, it’s the last Friday Night Skate of the winter.
Pricing: $2 for kids ages 2 to 4, $5.50 adults; skate rental is $2.50 and, if you must hold the rail, helmets are available for a dollar. Snack shop will be open.

 

5. South Pacific  

Where/When: Palace Theater at Playhouse Square, 1501 Euclid Avenue, Suite 200, Cleveland, OH 44115, Saturday, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (other shows also available)
Why Go: It’s kind of a famous musical. Plus, this revival has won a bunch of Tony Awards.
Pricing: $10 to $85
