Family Fun During the Holidays at the Maltz Museum

Spend Your Holidays with the Maltz Museum: Christmas, New Year's, MLK Day, and Presidents Day!

What are you doing Christmas, New Year's, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Presidents Day? When not spend them at the Maltz Museum? There's plenty going on to keep you and your family occupied!

Christmas Day - Sunday, Dec. 25 (Museum open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Join us for our annual Chinese Food & A Movie Day! Enjoy Oscar and Caldecott award-winning family-friendly films, create some art and be a contestant in “Jewpardy” on our big screen. Follow clues on a scavenger hunt and enjoy a guided tour through our galleries. When you’re done, snack on those traditional Jewish delicacies—egg rolls and fortune cookies!  All FREE with Museum admission. Programs begin at 1 p.m.

New Year's Day - Sunday, Jan. 1 (Museum open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Monday, Jan. 16 (Museum open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Free Admission to all Museum galleries and special programs!

Participate in our tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. with guided tours of An American Story, where the stories of how individuals overcame discrimination, prejudice and adversity come to life. At 1:30 p.m., join us for a special musical performance and enjoy the special jazz, blues and traditional musical performance Unchained: From Slavery to Civil Rights featuring vocalist Evelyn Wright accompanied by Roots of American Music artists bass-master Ray DeForest, keyboard player Joe Hunter and guitarist Kevin Richards.

Presidents Day - Monday, Feb. 20 (Museum open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

With the kids off of school, the Museum will open its doors on this Monday. At 2 p.m. meet some of America’s most fascinating presidents as they tell you in person about their life, times and relationship with the Jewish people. Have your picture taken with one or all of these famous men and enjoy some of their favorite desserts – apple pie, cherry pie, and sugar cookies! Arts and crafts activities and special “Presidential” scavenger hunts will be held throughout the afternoon. All FREE with Museum admission.
