Tire Failure Causes Injury Crash on I-271 A car and a truck were southbound on I-271 on May 9 just before noon when one of the car’s tires blew out. Retail Theft Getaway Fail A teenager was caught trying to steal a $195 Burberry dress shirt from Nordstrom in Beachwood Place on Sunday May 5 at about 5 p.m. He hid the shirt in an H&M shopping bag and tried to leave the store without paying for it. Dear Crashes Into Car A 24-year-old Sagamore Hills man was driving north in the 2900-block of Richmond Road at 10 a.m. on May 1 when a deer ran into the side of his car.  The car was damaged, the driver was unhurt, but the condition of the deer is unknown.  Two Burglaries, Same Street Parker Skin Clinic reported a burglary at the clinic’s Park East Boulevard office on May 1. Employee Faking Returns A Nordstrom employee was charged with grand theft by deception on May 1. Beachwood Police said he is accused of making returns on his debit card of items he did not actually return. One of the items he is accused of returning, he did not purchase, police said. The transactions took place between April 19 and 26 and were reported on May 1. A man was arrested and charged with obstructing official business and fleeing from police because officers said he struggled with them after he called them to report a stolen cell phone. Beachwood Police said that the man was working at a cell phone kiosk in the Beachwood Place Mall April 13 around noon when a cell phone was stolen.
