During the month of April, there were 31 properties sold or transferred in Beachwood. During that same time, there were more than 4,200 properties sold or transferred across the county. Beachwood last month—and how much they sold for. The database is for the entire county, so you can check for homes beyond the city's borders, too. The information in the database was provided by the Cuyahoga County Fiscal office. You can search by city, zip code or street address for properties sold or transferred during the month of April 2013. Mace's CEO, John McCann of Cleveland Heights, plans to turn the company into a $100 million brand.
The makers of the brand name pepper spray, Mace, are planning to move the company to midtown Cleveland in August, The Plain Dealer reported. Mace's Chairman and the chairman of Beachwood-based Ancora Group, Richard Barone, told The Plain Dealer that he plans to turn the brand around. Ancora owns 40 percent of Mace's stock. Much work has already been done to shed irrelevant investments and business lines. Mace's new CEO, John McCann of Cleveland Heights, was hired in Dec. 2011, according to Horsham Patch in PA, where the company was headquartered. The company plans to move into the office on Euclid Avenue in Cleveland in August and will employ about 50 people. Read the full story here.

The cost of colonoscopies, MRIs, CT scans and mammograms can shift a lot from place to place.
It costs $420 more to get an MRI in Cuyahoga County than Lake County. That's according to data from New Choice Health, a private company that encourages people to become smarter healthcare consumers. The two counties border each other, Cuyahoga County includes the city of Cleveland and the headquarters for MetroHealth Medical Center, University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic. These big regional differences have been in the news lately: As the Washington Post wrote last week, "One hospital charges $8,000 - another $38,000." Using the same data as the Post, The New York Times listed out the prices of a series of procedures in hospitals across the country. The Times and the Post used data from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. …
