Woman falls into partially open manhole

At about noon on Thursday, a women fell into a partially open manhole in the 24600 block of Chagrin Boulevard.

Beachwood firefighters took her to South Pointe Hospital where she received medical treatment.

Laptops stolen from cars

In a span of three hours on Wednesday, three cars parked in Beachwood were broken into and laptops were taken from them.

The first theft happened at 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the P.F. Chang's restaurant. The second occurred an hour later in the parking lot by the JCC Early Childhood Center on South Woodland Road. The final theft happened at 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Shaker Temple.

In all three instances, someone broke the window of the car and took a laptop.

Anyone with information on any of these thefts is encouraged to call the Beachwood Police Department at 216-464-1234.

People are also encouraged to not leave their laptops unattended in their vehicles.
