Phyllis Kalk said this whimsical platter is one of her favorite pieces. She said she often experiments by making pottery in non-traditional shapes.

The offerings ranged from photographs to knitted goods to pottery to cupcakes and pastry. But the criteria was the same: everything sold at the Beachwood Arts Council Hoilday Boutique had to be handmade and local.

Thirty-five vendors from around the region were chosen for this year's event, which was held on Nov. 12 at the Beachwood Community Center. The boutique raises money for a scholarship that will be given to a Beachwood senior who plans on studying the arts.
