Monday, July 9, 1:58 p.m. — Several callers reported that a mattress was on Interstate 271. When the officer arrived, the mattress’ owner had returned to retrieve it.

Driver falls asleep at Green and Chagrin

Tuesday, July 10, 3:17 a.m. — A man was found asleep behind the wheel at Chagrin Boulevard and Green Road in Beachwood. He was arrested and charged with drunken driving and obstructing an intersection.

Chickens fly the coop on Richmond Road

Tuesday, July 10, 11:43 a.m. — A Richmond Road resident reported that seven chickens that belong to her neighbor had gotten loose and were in her yard. Police arrived and corralled the chickens. The homeowner was given a verbal warning.

Laptop, TV stolen from Park East

Tuesday, July 10, 12:47 p.m. — reported that someone stole a resident’s laptop and a television from a storage closet.
