REMINDER: Richmond Road Construction Begins Today

$1.3 million project expected to last about two months

Summer construction season is here.

A major road construction project on Richmond Road from Fairmount Boulevard to Hendon Road begins today. The project will replace the pavement and widen Richmond Road from the Beachwood High School driveway to Fairmount.

LIVE TRAFFIC: Check out our Commute tab anytime to check traffic before you leave!

Drivers will have to operate in one lane in each direction on Richmond. Fairmount will be closed to through traffic at Richmond during the project, which the city expects to complete by Aug. 17. The city advises drivers to access Richmond Road by traveling west on Fairmount, south on South Green Road, east on South Shaker Boulevard to Richmond Road.

Beachwood Patch has a map of all three projects slated for this summer that we have updated regularly throughout the process. Click here to bookmark it in your browser, and check back regularly for the latest!

Do I have this right? The suggestion to avoid construction is to drive out of our way to another construction site.

Scott, the better suggestion is to probably do whatever works for you since we all know it will be ridiculous on this street at times

Only in this area do road workers not work at night. It would be so much better.
