Costumed kids filled the center Sunday for face painting, candy and other goodies

The dragon painted on his cheek doesn't convince Kanta Kawade that face painter is trustworthy.

Halloween came to the Beachwood Community Center a week early, but none of the youngsters running around seemed to notice. They were captivated by the games, toys and balloons that were part of the Pirates and Princesses Halloween Party on Sunday.

Many princesses were in evidence: Princess Tiana, from  Disney's "The Princess and the Frog," was there. So was Cinderella and even a butterfly fairy princess.

But lots of other characters showed up as well. Megatron from the "Transformers" movie dropped in. Supergirl and Wonder Woman waited for balloon toys. There was even a dragon, but he didn't bother to roar.
