Woman damages grass during driving lesson

Monday, March 12, 10:09 p.m. — Beachwood Place Mall security reported a car off the road on the property near Saks Fifth Avenue. When police arrived, the passenger said he was teaching his girlfriend how to drive. She had jumped a curb, making a small tire track in the grass but no damage to the property.

$500 stolen from Waxman Chabad

Tuesday, March 13, 1:05 p.m. — Waxman Chabad Center reported that $500 was stolen from a locked office drawer. The caller said it had happened before.

Officer spots attempted burglary

Wednesday, March 14, 8:57 a.m. — An officer on patrol noticed a broken window on a Halcyon Road home and contacted the resident. The resident said that the damage was new. No one got into the home, and the officer filed a report of attempted burglary.

Man kicked out of mall for lewd comments

Wednesday, March 14, 12:36 p.m. — Police escorted a man from Beachwood Place Mall after security banned him for making “lewd” comments to employees.

Woman charged with shoplifting

Wednesday, March 14, 5:03 p.m. — A woman was arrested at Dillards at the Beachwood Place Mall and charged with shoplifting $258 of merchandise.

Someone greases man’s car door handle

Wednesday, March 14, 7 p.m. — A man reported that someone smeared grease on the door handles of his car parked at the Hamptons Apartments.
