Mintz Outspent School Board Opponents 6 to 1

Joshua Mintz spent nearly $22,000 on 2011 Board of Education campaign

member-elect outspent his opponents nearly six to one in the November 2011 general election, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Steve Rosen and Alec Isaacson ran on a joint ticket against Mintz for two seats. Rosen and Isaacson’s campaign spent $3,800 to Mintz’s nearly $22,000.

Mintz contributed over $19,500 to his own campaign and received $2,150 from donors, including $1,800 from the Committee to Elect Goodman, Wachter, Mintz and Berns — the joint city council ticket.

The bulk of his expenditures are for printing (just over $15,000) and to D & R Consulting ($4,000).

Mintz listed $2,600 in in-kind contributions, all from his own pocket.

Rosen and Isaacson raised $1,775 from donors and listed about $3,300 in in-kind contributions, the bulk of which is from their own pockets. It also includes $550 in T-shirts and screen-printing from Board member Mitchell Luxenburg.

Candidates’ campaign finance reports — set to be finalized and posted online once audited — were due Dec. 16.
